Herbal Broth Infusion

Our herbal broth infusion will "soup" up your wintertime favorites with nourishing, immune boosting herbs, mushrooms and roots. Add this packet to a quart of any kind of broth or stock. 

Astragalus is an ancient adaptogen used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to help increase energy and resistance to stress. In addition, it is valued for supporting the immune system as a tonic that builds overtime. Reishi mushrooms support your immune system and defenses to help keep you healthy and feeling your best. Together these herbs can aid those who experience frequent respiratory infections throughout the winter.

Stinging Nettles: blood builder, high in iron, aids the kidneys and works as a diuretic to detox the body.

Dandelion Root: liver & blood tonic, acts as a mild diuretic for the urinary tract, stimulating to the digestive system

Burdock Root: delicious and strengthening, burdock brings equilibrium to the primary cleansing systems of the body: the skin, kidneys, liver, lymph, and GI tract

Lemongrass: added to this formula for it's citrus flavor and it's mild anti-inflammatory properties

Ingredients: Astragalus Root, Reishi Mushroom, Stinging Nettles, Dandelion Root, Burdock Root, & Lemongrass 

Directions: Combine this packet (remove cheesecloth) with 4 cups of broth, stock or water in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and allow to lightly simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat, cover and let steep for 1 hour. Strain using a funnel overlaid with cheesecloth (included) and squeeze out liquid (careful, liquid may still be hot!). Discard solids. Use this in soup & rice recipes. This has an earthy taste so we recommend replacing only a quarter or half of the recipe with this infused broth, but you are welcome to adjust to your personal taste. If only using water we recommend adding onion, celery and carrot to the pot when simmering for added flavor. Freeze any unused portion in ice cube trays for easy additions to recipes.
